16/02/25 - Barcelona day 1 by Maya

Hoje foi o primeiro dia da nossa estadia em Barcelona, o nosso primeiro dia de Erasmus! O dia começou muito cedo, as 5h30 da manhã quando acordei para me arrumar para o aeroporto e, às 8h encontrei-me com o professor e as minhas colegas. Estávamos nervosos, porque as nossas malas estavam muito cheias, mas elas passaram e conseguimos fazer o check in.

Check in feito, malas despachadas, despedimo-nos dos nossos pais e colegas (Vicky e Maria que vieram acompanhar-nos). Depois entrámos na área de embarque, esperámos pelo voo, entrámos e sentamo-nos no avião à espera da descolagem. O voo foi super tranquilo e rápido, com excessão do final, quando estávamos a descer e houve imensa pressão.

Quando finalmente aterramos, tivemos de ir à procura do autocarro e descobrir em qual paragem deveríamos sair, fomos a pé até ao hotel, fizemos o check in e pousámos as malas. Infelizmente, não podemos entrar logo no quarto, então fomos passear!! Andámos muitoooo à procura de um lugar para comer. Passámos por diversas atrações culturais como: Bairro Gótico, La Rambla e a Praça da Catalunya.  Almoçámos no Pans e depois fomos para o hotel.

Por volta das 16h, saímos do hotel e fomos passear. Infelizmente, as atrações previstas no nosso plano estavam fechadas, então decidimos ir a caminhar até ao Arco do Triunfo, onde podemos observar imensos lugares pelo caminho como: A casa Batlló e o Theater Coliseum (Coliseu de Barcelona). Ao chegar ao Arco do Triunfo, tirámos fotos, assistimos ao por do sol e visitámos a estufa do Castelo dos três dragões.

Para concluir a noite, fomos a um restaurante típico que ficava a caminho do hotel, onde comemos tapas muito deliciosas por um preço muito bom. Por último, passamos numa gelataria chamada Circus. Antes de dormir, ainda tivemos tempo de reunir com as nossas vizinhas de quarto (Débora, Mara e Matilde) para conversar.

O primeiro dia já acabou e consigo sentir saudades das pequenas memórias que já criamos, foi um dia muito cansativo mas o que vale a pena é estar com os amigos e criar memórias inesquecíveis desta oportunidade que nunca pensei em ter.

Today was the first day of our stay in Barcelona, our first day of Erasmus! The day started very early, at 5:30 a.m, when I woke up to get ready to the airport. At 8:00 am, I met with the professor and my colleagues. We were nervous because our suitcases were very full, but they passed, and we managed to check in.

After checking in and dropping off our bags, we said goodbye to our parents and friends (Vicky and Maria, who came to see us). Then we entered to the boarding area, waited for the flight, boarded the plane, and sat down, waiting for takeoff. The flight was super calm and quick, except at the end when we were landing, and there was a lot of pressure.

When we finally landed, we had to find the right bus and figure out which stop to get off at. We walked to the hotel, checked in, and dropped off our luggage. Unfortunately, we couldn’t enter to our room right after the check in, so we went for a walk! We walked a lot looking for a place to eat. Along the way, we passed by several cultural attractions, such as the Gothic Quarter, La Rambla, and Plaça Catalunya. We had lunch at Pans and then went back to the hotel.

Around 4:00 PM, we left the hotel to explore. Unfortunately, the attractions planned for our itinerary were closed, so we decided to walk to the Arc de Triomf, where we got to see many places along the way, including Casa Batlló and the Theatre Coliseum. When we arrived at the Arc de Triomf, we took photos, watched the sunset, and visited the greenhouse of the Castle of the Three Dragons.

To end the night, we went to a typical restaurant on our way back to the hotel, where we ate delicious tapas for a great price. Finally, we stopped at an ice cream shop called Circus. Before going to sleep, we even had time to meet up with our roommates (Débora, Mara and Matilde) to gossip.

The first day is already over, and I can already feel nostalgic about the little memories we have made. It was an exhausting day, but what truly matters is being with friends and creating unforgettable memories from this opportunity I never thought I would have.
